From day-to-day, I can find myself working on routing the electrical harnesses for a machine, reviewing a peer's harness print or helping to install a new electrical harness on a machine.

le schéma d'installation d'un faisceau
le schéma d'installation d'un faisceau électrique fait par un collègue. Une fois encore "schéma de câblage" pourrait convenir.

: I'm not so sure! This probably isn't the simple 'schéma', which would be a curious thing to call a 'print'; I think this is rather the printed 'pattern' used as a guide to follow when making up wiring harnesses; it's all about use of language.

You may be right Tony but without more details such as a picture my "simple" answer could be the right.

: D'où vient "l'installation" ?

l'empreinte de câblage
Nous parlons de câblage électrique. Un exemple de photo peut être trouvé ici:

: Actually, this si far more specific and talks about wiring harnesses; your article talks about 'empreintes' as 'fingerprints', otherwise an 'empreinte' is usually associated specifically with the layout of a PCB, but rarely a wiring harness.

harness print
Cable harnesses are usually designed according to geometric and electrical requirements. A diagram is then provided (either on paper or on a monitor) for the assembly preparation and assembly.[3]
The wires are first cut to the desired length, usually using a special wire-cutting machine. The wires may also be printed on by a special machine during the cutting process or on a separate machine.[5] After this, the ends of the wires are stripped to expose the metal (or core) of the wires, which are fitted with any required terminals or connector housings. The cables are assembled and clamped together on a special workbench, or onto a pin board (assembly board), according to the design specification, to form the cable harness. After fitting any protective sleeves, conduit, or extruded yarn, the harness is either fitted directly in the vehicle or shipped.[

Discussion
I do consider a templet, or 'gabarit' in French.
More recently, more sophisticated systems have been used, including using printed templates that could be changed quickly. I'm pretty sure this is the kind of thing they're referring to here.
