Bi-difference - Return difference Going by the description in this first link, it looks like 'bi-difference' is a correction factor that needs to be entered for each printing speed in order to avoid misalignment in the detail that is printed from left to right with the detail that is printed from right to left. In this case, it looks like 'bi-difference' is the distance between the two markers (one printed when the printhead goes from left to right, the other printed when it goes right to left). When this difference is entered into the adjustment parameters, then the speed of the printhead will be adjusted so it is the same going left to right as it is when it goes right to left, and the printing will be in alignment.

This next reference is a bit simpler. It says that if there is a 'bi-difference' shown on the printout, then the bi-directional offset must be adjusted by the value above the matching pattern.
