Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): Rachel Fell

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Brendan McNally (asker) Jun 1, 2021:
Thanks, I think it might be degraded stand, or poor stand, I found a few references for both, but poor stand seems to relate to crops rather than trees, I
f anyone knows for sure, please let us know.

low tree density

It means that the density of most of the stands is low. The expression is widely used in forestry literature.

forest stand with low economic value

It can also be a forest stand with low economic value and low carbon storage capacity.

agree Daryo : very relevant research / still it would be a good idea to have more than just a fragment of a sentence as "context", to be really sure. What seems "obvious" is not always so when you get a proper context - happens occasionally.

poorly stocked

There are opportunities for additional planting sites to help make future management economically viable and to enrich poorly stocked stands.

Some stands are poorly stocked and additional planting will take place to increase the stocking density and allow opportunity to diversify the species mixtures.
