Mão de direção
1 O sentido, a direção do trânsito numa rua, estrada etc.

The way of traffic?

"One of the decision problems in the modernization or revitalization of a railway line is the choice of the way of conducting railway traffic on adjacent routes. There are no methods that precisely determine the way of traffic on railway lines."

"If possible, exit the travel lane and stop or, if not possible to exit the travel lane, stop as much as practical out of the way of traffic;"

Discussion

PS: Acabei de encontrar "driving direction of a road".

rule of the road

"Left-hand traffic (LHT) and right-hand traffic (RHT) are the practices, in bidirectional traffic, of keeping to the left side or to the right side of the road, respectively. They are fundamental to traffic flow, and are sometimes referred to as the rule of the road."

Thank you, Douglas. I totally agree. I just posted a comment on the Discussion Board. Is there a technical name for this?
Please disregard it. It looks like it's called "driving side (of a road): https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left-_and_right-hand_traffic
Actually, I'll take it back. Driving side is the same as "rule of the road". As explained in my post, the original term has to do with the direction, either one-way or two-way. At least that's how I understand the term in question.
