NF (External Documents Department) Explanation: NF are the initials of the person looking after the matter. There may be a better word, but this gets the job over the line I think. service d'acte détaché Outsourced Process-Service Agency / for Ancillary Admin. Matters / Explanation: Taking a 'detached' view and speculating on service of process, I am fusing - so lifting - everyone else's ideas. The acte is meant to reflect the service of process, rather than the false friend of 'service' that has traditionally been EEC/EC-rendered as an 'agency'. 'Acte détachable : Droit admin. > acte que le juge accepte de soumettre à un régime contentieux différent de celui appliqué à la mesure principale, dans le cadre de la théorie de l'acte administratif complexe', Le Droit de A à Z, Dictionnaire Juridique Pratique + lexique de termes juridiques, Dalloz. So ancillary matters or issues rather than 'anicllary divorce relief', though I am running scared of outlandish comments. Example sentence(s):

[Single/Unique/Special] Instruments Department Explanation: What is an Acte Détaché: un huissier "traite également les actes détachés (AD), c'est-à-dire les actes provenant de professionnels (avocats, notaires) ou encore de particuliers demandeurs, n'ayant aucun lien avec un dossier ouvert antérieurement, d'où leur nom « acte détaché »." See p.78 of: http://cyberdoc.univ-lemans.fr/memoires/2015/Droit/M2/M2_Con... What is FR "service" in this context: a department, office, division, etc. (see discussion). For example, "je travaille dans le service juridique de l'entreprise" = I work in the company's legal department. Thus, "Service Actes Détachés" is the department of a huissier de justice that handles "actes détachés." Actes is often translated by deeds, but I never use that word unless the act in question actually is a deed. The broader and more accurate EN term is "instrument" (first definition here: https://thelawdictionary.org/instrument/). I'm not aware of any EN legalese term that distinguishes one-off legal instruments from instruments that are part of an existing dossier that your firm is already handling. In everyday speech, legal professionals might refer to a matter as a "one-off," but that's too casual. So, I've suggested a few more formal-sounding synonyms. |
