Pony is affectionately a horse , a full-size horse. It takes more than a hat, a belt buckle, and cowboy boots to be a real cowboy. You can buy these in a store. Riding a horse is a better test.

That's funny. I can't imagine a cowboy riding a pony as we know it now unless it's some kind of big boys' pony from the wild west times.
