Polish term or phrase: decesja
Artykuł dotyczy mineralizacji organicznych związków azotu w glebach organicznych.

enhanced aerobic peat mineralization
Explanation:
Reducing of the water level in peatlands activates anaerobic conditions into aerobic ones and accelerates the peat mineralization.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7321330/

We interpret these results to indicate that a plausible reason for the reported upward trends in nutrient concentrations is the maturing and growing of the tree stands over time since initial drainage and the consequent increasing evapotranspiration capacity, which results in lowered soil water levels and enhanced aerobic peat mineralization.

decession

Explanation:
Okruzko and Ilnicki (2003) distinguish two processes taking place in organic soils: paludification (peat accumulating) and decession (peat mineralisation) with moorsh forming.
https://www.blacklandcentre.org/others/terminology-and-metho...

As the effect soil structure changes, water capacity and permeability decreases (OKRUSZKO 1993), and in consequence – the subsidence and the decession of the peatbog deposit starts (JASNOWSKI & ILNICKI 1988).
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&c...

This phenomenon, opposite to the accumulation of organie mass in the soil was defined by Okruszko [216] as decession (from Latin decessio meaning loss,
dissipation). The organie soil may either be in the stage of accumulation or decession.
