impresión mecánica

Spanish to English Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters Pago de matricula

I think this refers to the dot matrix printing some banks use to confirm that you have made a payment, rather than a stamp or signature, but am unsure what the translation into English would be here.

Thank you for your help!

mechanical imprint; machine impression

Stamp is ambiguous as can refer to the stamp duty payable on the document.

The second 'machine impression' weblink may be US AmE, but would be widely understood elsewhere.

Example sentence:

When probate or letters of administration are granted, the court which makes that grant “seals” the document by placing a stamp, an imprint or sometimes (as the process was named after) a wax seal on it.

Forensic examination of the stamp, seal and other *mechanical impressions* // Download scientific diagram | Idea of the practical realization of the *mechanical imprint*.

agree Toni Castano : True, it's necessary to avoid the ambiguity of "stamp".

Thanks & gracias, Toni.
agree philgoddard : Though I can't really visualise what this might consist of.

Perhaps take a look at any copy of a grant of probate or your own academic or vocational qualifications for the printed seal....

Even if it does refer to the dot matrix thing you mention, it's probably just referred to as a stamp.
Example sentence:

A copy of the original document must be authenticated by the corresponding stamp...
