hakel rewach

Hebrew to English Social Sciences General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
From a letter, written in German in July of 1941 in Vienna:

“Bei uns ist G. s. D. weiter nichts los, gestern hat zum ersten Mal meine verkürzte Ferientätigkeit begonnen, d.h. Unterrichtsschluß um ¼6h statt um 6h, hakel rewach. Tsi und ich besuchen weiter fleißig den Iwrithkurs. Es gibt wohl einen weiter fortgeschrittenen Kurs, den wir lieber besuchen würden…”

@ Vere Barzilai Maybe "it's all profit" or "everything is profit." Later in the letter, the writer (a teacher in Vienna) talks about the school shortening class hours to save money, etc., so maybe she meant that classes ending a quarter hour earlier than usual meant more profit for the school.

@ Vere Barzilai With a little more research, I think it is a "Germanized" spelling of the phrase: הכל רװח
Vere Barzilai Jul 27, 2023:
? What comes to my mind is from Hebrew: הכל רווח, like: it's a gain or a profit, but it is really just speculations from my side.

All God does is Good,

machine trans by Google pop up.... Every David is merciful - for the good of a servant[1]is an Aramaic expression that means: "Everything God does - for good, He does it" (literally: "Everything the Merciful does for good He does"). This expression, attributed to Rabbi Akiva , describes an absolute belief in all God's actions that they are intended for good , even if in a contemporary view they seem to be bad, and this phrase also describes full confidence in everything that happens in the person's way
