French term

prè musculaire

French to English Medical Medical (general) PET scan
Hi,
I am translating a full-body PET scan and have the following:
"masse ganglionnaire axillaire gauche, prè musculaire, calcifié de SUVmax 3.4"
Could this be "subglandular"?
Thanks
Joanna

Premuscular means infront of /superficial to the muscle. The extract does not specify which muscles are involved here. I think it best not to be specific.

French term (edited): prémusculaire

prepectoral

To start the ball rolling - neither subglandular, nor submuscular, but pre- vs. retro-muscular.

masse ganglionnaire axillaire gauche : still within the grand pectoral range.

Example sentence:

Retromuscular position (behind the muscle) : Premuscular position (in front of the muscle) :

Peer comment(s):

neutral Sue Davis : the text does not specify which muscles are involved Prepectoral = superficial to pectoral muscles

Overview
Background

A modified radical mastectomy is a procedure in which the entire breast is removed, including the skin, areola, nipple, and most axillary lymph nodes, but the pectoralis major muscle is spared. Historically, a modified radical mastectomy was the primary method of treatment for breast cancer. [1, 2] As the treatment of breast cancer evolved, breast conservation has become more widely used. [3, 4] However, mastectomy still remains a viable option for women with breast cancer. [5, 6]

Hi Liz, unfortunately this is the only time they mention it through the report. I finally found a German proz answer "in front of the muscle" https://www2.proz.com/kudoz/french-to-german/medical-general/6776024-en-pr%C3%A9-musculaire.html?phpv_redirected=1
