Allègements

French to English Bus/Financial Accounting French Pay slip
Hi,

I am currently translating a French pay slip from France for Australia.

At the bottom of the page I have a table:

Jours Brut Plafond S.S. Net imposable Ch. patronales Coût Global Total versé Allègements
Mensuel
Annuel

There is no other mention of "allègement" in the pay slip.

Thanks for your help

Joanna

@Phil: I did search the internet, various online dictionaries and Proz but found different answers
When I searched Proz I only got a medical entry for the plural form and got loads of hits for the singular but most of them were associated to a term and I wanted to double check with someone in the field which was more appropriate in this context.

Joanna You keep posting questions without looking them up in the glossary (or a dictionary) first, which is wasting your time and ours. There are many previous entries for this word, which means rebate, reduction, or relief.

Proposed translations

French term (edited): allègement/s

employer's (FRE) reduced -> (NC) staggered-payment -> soc. sec./nat. ins. contributions

Ch. = charges *patronales* Coût Global Total versé -> Allègements.

I'm not quite sure whether the employee has now gone from New Caledonia to France, but the ProZ Glossaries make no mention of either soc. soc. or NI scenario, nor of any UK-type *extra-statutory tax concessions*, like luncheon vouchers for employees and received once by Yours Truly and that UK-qualified accountants ought to be familiar with.
Example sentence:

General deductions to compulsory actual employers' social security contributions should be considered as reducing the level of compulsory actual employers' contributions.

Un dispositif d'étalement des cotisations sociales pour les entreprises impactées par le confinement qui a débuté le 7 septembre 2021 a été adopté par le Congrès de la Nouvelle-Calédonie le 21 octobre 2021.

Note from asker:
Thanks for your help Adrian. This person is now in France.

Reliefs

I believe we are talking about a relief (benefit) on contributions that applies on a monthly or annual basis.
Peer comment(s):

agree SafeTex : yes, I'd say "reductions and relief" just to cover all eventualities but it's basically this
