What is the best word to translate 'signe'? Is it 'sign'? 'Symbol'? 'Character'? 'Brand'?

neutral SafeTex : i don't think you can call a "denomination sociale" or "nom de domaine" a sign.

if these sub-categories are registrable, then IMO they would be classifiable as 'signs' as wide enough to cover such a broad definition https://www.ascii-code.com/character/registered-trade.
