Looks ambiguous, as on the last question with Michael M.'s answer IMO being superior to the plodding one of 'increased' picked: namely the shares are boosted 'durch' rather than being those of the members, so 'Bis zum Abschluss der Übernahme sollen wesentliche Anteile von den Gesellschaftern = durch die Gesellschafter hochgefahren werden...' The members (not necessarily all shareholders) are going to ramp up equity stakes by (vs. until) close (BrEcompletion) of the take-over.'

I considered and dismissed 'leveraging of equities', though the scant context does not indicate any debt/equity borrowing for the take-over or leveraged buy-out.

Possible interpretation from my (non-insider dealing / last-minute share buy-up) time in a law firm's company law dept. in the City of London: the value of company share goes up prior to announcement of a corporate take-over or acquisition, in the jargon thereby 'upping or raising the ante'. The bigger the members' / shareholders' stakes, the more valuable their shreholdings.
