French term

débit de purge

French to English Tech/Engineering Nuclear Eng/Sci Control systems
Context:
- un capteur de débit de purge 56 pour mesurer le débit de purge DP du générateur de vapeur 8. Le débit de purge DP est un débit d’eau à l’état liquide extrait du côté secondaire du générateur de vapeur 8. Ce débit de purge DP est relativement faible, en particulier comparativement au débit de vapeur extrait du générateur de vapeur 8 ;

As usual a PR task where this term has been translated variously as
drain flow
bleed flow
blowdown
Either drain or bleed seems Ok but is blowdown a specific term in Nuclear installations?
TIA Chris.

It's ok. It was a pleasure to be helpful.

blowdown flow rate

I'm showing my age here, but the Framatome/ AFNOR nuclear dictionary of 1989 - you know, one of those old-fangled ink-on-paper things that goes back to Ancient Egypt - has four entries for purge, each for a different field:
- (gaz, vapeur) : vent
- (général) : bleed
- (générateur de vapeur) : blowdown (steam generator)
- (liquide) : drain

Now for something thoroughly modern, Minnie:

The SG blowdown flow rate to be treated is about 0.5 to 1% of feed water flow, whereas the flow rate of CPS is 55 to 70%
https://www-pub.iaea.org/MTCD/Publications/PDF/TE_1668_web.p...

Each of the four blowdown lines is routed through blowdown flow rate adjusting valves to the blowdown flash tank, located in the Reactor Building. The blowdown flow rate adjusting valves control the blowdown flow rate from each SG

SGs involve both liquid water and steam, and, for SGs at least, 'blowdown' covers both, e.g. feedwater (FW) line blowdown and steam line blowdown (you have both in the text you quote, but the other terms may be valid in different contexts).

Break location affects steam-line blowdown by virtue of the pressure losses that occur in the length of piping between the SG and the break location
https://www.nrc.gov/docs/ML1322/ML13220A695.pdf

FW line blowdown mass release increase was not explicitly calculated. MS [main steam] line break at current licensed conditions bounds FW line break at CPPU conditions. Maximum FW line energy release occurs at ICF at CPPU RTP and minimum FW temperature conditions.

it is found the jet axial travel distance to the asymptotic area is 4.5 times of the pipe I.D. for saturated water blowdown, or 2.0 times of the pipe I.D. foe saturated steam blowdown.

In addition there is 'water/steam blowdown'.
