There doesn't seem to be any sensible translation for "Gewerke" in English, I tried "works" the other day, but the translator community here shot me down in flames for it.

: Works = Befestigungen, Baustelle, Getriebe, Betrieb (Fabrik). Reparaturarbeiten = repair work.

I tried works the other day in connection to a factory and was reprimanded by not just one, but several colleagues

building trades
I can only offer this possibility. Maybe there is a reference to the building trades in the drawings.

buildings - project phases - contract sections - contractual segments - contract segments
"buildings" could be quite OK if only buildings are involved, but if infrastructure or other project segments are involved, you might want to use something more general, such as:
project phases - contract sections - contractual segments - contract segments

good question!
I agree with Klaus - if the context is buildings or structures, you can use that. But it is a bit hard to tell without at least the sentence in which the term appears.
It might help you to look at previous queries on this term. I submitted one for "Gewerk" on Feb 16, and another was submitted entitled "untergeordnet / übergeordnet - Leitsystem - Gewerk" on May 6.
Good luck!
Klaus: sorry to hear you got shot down so violently -- I just hate it when that happens (speaking from experience!)
