Aluminium and magnesium are both light metals and have similar thermal properties. If steel screws were used, they (unlike the aluminium ones) wouldn't expand and contract at (much) the same rate as the magnesium, the result being more relative movement between the magnesium and screws.
I'd use a term containing the word 'relative' as IMO that's important. There must be a proper term though.
