Ringmuren var fem meter høj, havde en
diameter på 56 meter og var lavet af hvide
kridtsten. Absalons Borg lyste op som et vartegn, der
kunne ses på lang afstand. Den har uden
tvivl indgydt ærefrygt. Ringmuren var en
såkaldt kassemur, hvor to mure blev bygget
med halvanden meters afstand. Mellemrummet
mellem de to mure blev fyldt med
kampesten og kalkmørtel, så den blev ekstra
stærk og elastisk.
