trekkerhuis

Dutch to English Tech/Engineering Military / Defense rifle parts
a description of a problem when using a particular rifle:

Bij gebruik van het wapen door linkshandig personeel is het mogelijk dat de sluitnok over de grendelnok in het trekkerhuis wordt gedrukt.

I never served in the army, otherwise I might have known...

proper term found elsewhere I found a manufacturer's document giving "lower receiver" as the proper term in this particular case.

Yes, it seems you are right. How about "trigger group well"? I am just guessing here, but this term is used often and seems to apply to the same part.
Note from asker:
I did check this of course, but this term seems to be used only with pistols and old fashioned rifles, not with modern rifles like the M16

agree Siobhan Schoonhoff-Reilly : A quick cross reference on Google shows that 'trigger housing' is also used for M16s.
