Some authors seem to say so, while some modern couples may connect daily but often just lie together peacefully or in a meditative state, or snuggle up for comfort.

Explanation:
Je pencherais pour le bien-être, plutôt que le réconfort. Le sentimet d'être bien (au chaud!), en confiance, avec sa "moitié", en somme de retrouver la pièce manquante du puzzle.

Par contre, je ne le traduirais sans doute pas par bien-être.
