We really need more context, but as this is said to be 'tourism', I suspect an impersonal expression is probably what is needed here.
I'm not sure if it can be quite expressed like this in FR, but I've come across expressions like « Il fait bon vivre à XXX »

Given this sounds like some sort of marketing text, I strongly suspect this needs more copy(re)writing than mere translation!

Merci, Gilles ! Je traduis depuis des années pour un rédacteur qui se veut « cultivé », mais apparemment il est aussi ringard... Autant pour moi, alors, si je copie sur son style ! ;-)

Normally, we might say "It was nice to have stayed at XXX this summer" or else "It was nice staying at XXX this summer" — but the use of 'to be staying' in conjunction with 'was' and 'this summer' could indicate something different; it all depends when the writer is saying this with respect to when the action happened
