Hi!
I am translating an article about the workplace integration of mentally-ill patients.
Even though the author reckons it is utopian, he mentions its potential role in banning practices that undermine human dignity, such as restraint, custody behind locked doors, and ***the electrical resetting of brain hardware***.

I am not too sure about the meaning. Does it have anything to do with "électrochocs" ? Or anything else?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
