Hi everybody,
In the following sentence describing an hotel, I am not sure about what "tizzied up" means.
"If you’re staying overnight in town, there are several good options, but this is the most atmospheric, if slightly tizzied up, choice."
Some suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

kitsch
Bonjour,
D'après mes recherches, "tizzied up" means "fancied up", "tarted up".
In most contexts, apparently, this is used to say when decoration is a little bit over the top.
I think "kitsch" in French conveys that exact feeling...
Maybe "tarte" would work too, if you go for something more negative.

: I'm not entirely sure 'kitsch' is quite right — surely that tends to imply 'with bad taste', which is not necessarily the case with the S/T, which might just mean 'overly-fussy'

Ma foi, des coupes pas mal, un petit excès de froufrous à mon goût, mais quelques vrais coups de coeur.
