Il semblerait que les connaisseurs ou amateurs francophones utilisent le terme latin, et qu'il n'y a par conséquent pas de nom français consacré.

Rien de scientifique dans cette "preuve", je l'admets, mais de toute façon, dans le doute, le nom latin est préférable. Il ne faut pas s'autoriser à inventer un nom français, au risque de propager une erreur scientifique.
