Couldn't you just...
... say "Materialkamm", or even only "Kamm"? As far as I can see, it's a comb to seperate strands of material and keep them at an equal distance from one another before being processed.

This are plastic strands in a granulator or pelletizer that are kept aligned with a strand comb.
