• Evaluation report on the Fitness Check of Consumer and Marketing Law (INT/796 - Rapporteur Mr. Pegado Liz): The EESC Information Report on Consumer and Marketing Law studied the cumulative effects of four directives. The findings are the result of a questionnaire, hearing and fact-finding missions to Athens, Lisbon, Vilnius and Paris. The Commission's report dedicates a chapter (Annex 3) to covering the methodology and substance of the EESC's input. The Commission highlights problems of implementation and enforcement, issues underlined in the EESC's conclusions. It also highlights the lack of consensus among stakeholders with regard to the harmonisation of EU consumer law (""""maximum vs. minimum approach"""""), and with regard to the status of enterprises acting as consumers.
