English term

The operation speed of the pump is accelerated.

Non-PRO English Tech/Engineering Engineering (general)
Is it appropriate to say " the speed is accelerated"?
I think that "speed" is not an object to be accelerated.
Is it appropriate to say that " The operation speed of the pump is increased"

Yes, you are right — speed and acceleration (= rate of change of speed) are not the same thing!

You might say 'the pump operation is accelerated', which would be OK in non-technical language, but not really suitable for a more formal technical register.

Otherwise, 'increase the speed' is perfectly OK

Note I would personally prefer 'operating speed' — though unless any other kind of speed is possible for this particular pump, I would even be inclined to simply leave out 'operating' altogether — what else can a pump do except 'operate'?!

agree B D Finch : "Operation" is wrong IMO and should be "operating" or "operational", depending upon context; though I prefer your suggestion of omitting it.
