Kiitos, Anu!
neutral Owen Witesman : I would only expect to see this in a scientific text. Very few hits in Google.

male seedling

We normally just refer to plants as male and female. Kiwis, for example, require male and female plants to pollinate properly.
Peer comment(s):

agree Anu Carroll : Agree if the context allows for a general term. Plant sexuality is awfully complicated, and "poikataimi" seems to be used in Finnish as well.

Just be careful. If this is at all for a general audience, "staminate" will go over most peoples' heads. Most English speakers couldn't tell a spruce from a pine if their lives depended on it. The level of botanical knowledge is very different in Finland
