This forum is meant for translators for asking help from colleagues. You apparently aren't making any translation job. Is the text even meant for you? Are you eavesdropping? Why don't you write e.g. in English with your pal?

a couple of weeks there next month... when are you planning to be in the Pori area?

I'm probably a bit more sympathetic to your dilemma than some other translators, since I've spoken Finnish all my life but have only lived here for six years. (My native language is English.) I have family in several parts of Finland, and they all speak different types of slang that I sometimes find nearly indecipherable. As I understand it, the rules of the Proz.com site allow "non-Pros" like you to ask questions, so I don't see anything wrong with you asking us! If people don't want to answer, that's up to them.
