When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

air purification and decontamination assembly
Basically agree with Conor again, but in patentese ensemble is "assembly". It is quite specifically not "unit" or "device", but deliberately chosen as a term which is more "catch-all".
For fairly obvious reasons, it is pretty important when you translate patents to be aware of just how catch-all (or conversely restrictive) the terms used are, and to get the appropriate one in the target language.
yes thank you |
air purifier and cleaner device
j'allais mettre ''kit'' au lieu de device puisqu'il s'agit d'un ensemble. Je vous laisse l'embarras du choix. Courage.

air purification and decontamination unit
dépollution > decontamination is usually used in former industrial site clean-up contexts, but I'm sure recent events have taught us that any can can be contaminated, and this may be the selling-point of the product described in this patent material
(And even before the current situation there would be occasional issues with Legionnaire's disease caused by HVAC systems.)
As for unit versus system, I would say unit if there is a central hub in the set-up and the rest is periphery, and system if the set-up is more complex.

To Imène: as Phil has agreed, it has to be system or unit really. Or maybe facilities, but that doesn't really fit in patent material.
Otherwise, try the Termium website, sometimes it is good for tech staff.
@Conor McAuley : thank you I agree about the "decontamination " term, but I found that they say "air purification and decontamination assembly" more then "... unit" ; which makes me confused about what to select |
