Discussion

Saeed Najmi Feb 14, 2021:
I kindly requested you to elaborate if it is a technical issue so I can take it into account in future translations. I see you are not in a position to do so. Therefore, I take your comment as a personal opinion. I will investigate the matter with experts elsewhere and am sure they will elaborate generously on the matter.
AllegroTrans Feb 14, 2021:
No, I mean wrong
Saeed Najmi Feb 14, 2021:
@Allegro Trans
I understand you mean "unnecessary"", not wrong, right? Should you disagree, and should you be regerring to a technicality, kindly elaborate.
AllegroTrans Feb 14, 2021:
totally agree with Conor Sajeed, this doesn't depend on the target country and it's wrong to try to "localise" entities such as this, The proper way to proceed is to produce an internationally comprehensible straight translation and to add this (in brackets) to the acronym. Anything else is misleading.
Conor McAuley Feb 14, 2021:
No exact equivalents
I don't think other countries have exact equivalents of this committee, so you just do a straight translation.
Saeed Najmi Feb 13, 2021:
Comité National de Prévention des Accidents de la Circulation as called in Morocco. Again, depending translation of organizations/admins is country bound.

Peer comment(s):

agree Conor McAuley : Road traffic accidents. Use the English without the capital letters with the French in round brackets, or vice versa / Oops, sorry, it's the French that doesn't specify "circulation routière", I apologise.

Thanks Conor, I noticed that as well: circulation/circulation routière
agree AllegroTrans : Yes, but as an explanation in brackets after the French acronym
