Rekontrastierung

German to English Medical Medical: Cardiology
In an angiography report: "Rechtes Bein: Verschluss der AFS und der A. poplitea. Rekontrastierung des stenosierten Tractus tibiofibularis" and "Linkes Bein: Verschluss der AFS. Rekontrastierung in P1." I understand that there would be no contrast enhancement of the occluded superficial femoral artery/popliteal artery and that Rekontrastierung refers to resumption of contrast enhancement further distally. But is there another way to phrase this besides "Resumption (or return) of contrast enhancement"? Sounds cumbersome.

I agree with Renee - this is a key question :=)
Anne Schulz Sep 1, 2020:
Verschluss means occlusion.
liz askew Sep 1, 2020:
What does "Verschluss" mean?
liz askew Sep 1, 2020:
anyway this is referring to the stenosis
liz askew Sep 1, 2020:
p.s. I can find no examples of
Rekontrastierung

Is this a post angioplasty study? In that case, I would describe this as reperfused P1 with contrast enhancement

"Recontrasted" seems the obvious choice, though it doesn't get huge numbers of hits.

[with the same degree) of contrast enhancement

As I say, I have not found your word online, only

kontrastierung

they are talking about the stenosis of the fibular and tibial arteries here, not perfusion of these, as far as I understand!

Similarly, in the presence of distal superficial femoral artery occlusion, the profunda femoris artery reconstitutes the popliteal artery through the geniculate arteries.
