relazione unitaria di controllo societario del

Italian to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) audit reports
Title of report to shareholders.

The collegio sindacale is responsible for both the supervisory role and the role of legal auditor. As a result, they issue one report covering both roles? A "unified" audit report?

Here is a bit more context:

Signori Soci,

Thanks James and Phil. Very much appreciated your input and hopefully provided useful some information for future users.

BTW, I went with "combined audit and supervisory report".
James (Jim) Davis Jul 18, 2018:
@Triskele I have never seen it put in this way. Before the law cited a small Srl needed a collegio sindacale which had to write a report and also a normal outside auditor, which basically writes a certification that the accounts are legit. The law basically says that if you have qualified revisore legale on the collegio sindacale then the collegio can also audit the accounts. In some cases (small firms) one person can do the whole thing. Here it seems that the collegio sindacale can put both its normal report and its certification of the accounts on the same piece of paper and call it a Relazione Unitaria di Controllo Societario del Collegio Sindacale incaricato della revisione dei conti del bilancio al.... Well obviously they would need a few extra pieces of paper at that rate, but in the same document anyway. Large companies and SPAs can't do this.

Collegio sindacale is pretty unique to Italy and a few other countries that have a similar body. Generally translated as board of statutory auditors or board of auditors. It is the relazione unitaria that I have never come across before. I also thought "Unified audit report...." or something along that line since it is a combined report.
philgoddard Jul 18, 2018:
Collegio sindacale is board of auditors. I'd go for combined rather than unified.
James (Jim) Davis Jul 18, 2018:
I would go with unified audit report or maybe unified audit and supervisory report.

I know of no equivalent to a "collegio sindacale" in the UK or US. They just have a board of directors and the outside auditors for the accounts and a "company secretary" in the UK with governance responsibilities.
