Japanese term
"表示させる"
Japanese to English
Tech/Engineering
Patents
Japanese verb translation causative transitive
Hello,
When translating a word like "表示させる" in a technical document such as a patent, should it always be in the causative (X makes/causes Y to display Z)? Stated differently, do Japanese native speakers sometimes use the causative simply to stress a verb's transitive aspect, so that "to display" would suffice?
Best regards,

"表示させる" is used as to express "to indicate" also.
