Slovak term or phrase: Ischl
It appears on a wedding ring that dates to around 1890. I'm not sure if this word is Czech or Slovak; perhaps it may even be in Hebrew.

English translation:Ischl spa
Explanation:
Bad Ischl is a famous Austrian spa.
Could also be a surname, but I haven't traced any.

It was in Ischl where the healing power of salt water baths in the Salzkammergut was discovered at the beginning of the 18th century. With the Royalty taking their cures in Ischl the remote salt village became a fashionable spa, and not only the village itself, but the whole region developed into a huge recreational landscape. Springs are bubbling everywhere - Glauber salt springs, iodine-sulphur springs and sodium-chloride springs - and today, the lovely villages on the Upper Traun between Mitterndorf and Ischl proudly call themselves a spa.

Bad Ischl is the oldest salt water spa in Austria, and since 1823 it has offered cure treatments. In the Emperor's thermal, visitors can choose between several natural ways of curing: Salt water with 27 per cent salt content, the cold sodium-chloride sulphate-sulphur spring and a Glauber salt spring, a salt water drinking spring and mud from the salt mountain. Emperor Franz Joseph I came to Bad Ischl for his annual summer residence, spending nearly 70 summers here with hunting and recreation, a truly loyal guest to Bad Ischl. Various historical buildings and sights give evidence of the monarch's regular visits. For the visitor an absolute must is the Emperor's Mansion - his former summer residence. In today's city museum Franz Joseph got engaged to Elisabeth, and the photo museum in the "Marmorschlössl" used to be the tea-house the Empress also known as Sissi.

Nowadays, Bad Ischl is known as the cultural and geographical centre of the Salzkammergut. The comfortable hotels and inns, the rural boarding-houses and the farms decked out beautifully welcome their guests nearly all year long, since Bad Ischl offers a variety of possibilities for leisure time and entertainment. The rapid Alpine descents or the ice-skating hall for all kinds of winter sports. At the end of May, the white narcissus festival marks the start of a new season for golfers, tennis players, fishermen and horseriders. With the operetta festival, the spa orchestra, the city and the Emperor's festival, classical concerts and jazz events Bad Ischl offers music for every taste. And in September the hiking season starts in the marvellous landscape with mountains and lakes in the surrounding area of Bad Ischl.
