Spanish term

paletería

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering
The context is a brochure describing sand and aggregate products used in road making, construction, etc.

A certain sand that is quarried in Menarguens, Spain, is said to be useful for "paletería".

I suspect it is something to do with masonry, but I can find very few uses of the word this way.

Aprendí algo hoy Pensé que tendría relación con "trowel".

@ Lorena: Can you put it as an answer, ie. "masonry", which is what it is. ¿Sabías el dicho? "Els catalans de les pedres treuen pans" - "Los catalanes de las piedras sacan panes"... ;-) (Y mañana votan por su gobierno autonómico... :-)
Alan Lambson (asker) Dec 21, 2017:
Thanks Lorena, very helpful. So paletería is albañilería > masonry ???
lorenab23 Dec 21, 2017:
Hi Alan paletería comes from paleta which means albañil in Catalan. Menarguens is in Lerida (Lleida), Catalonia.
