¡Buenas tardes! Me he encontrado con el siguiente término en una traducción para un Centro de Rescate: Núcleo zoológico con un número detrás. Se que este número se necesita para poder abrir un centro de este tipo, pero el único término que he encontrado en inglés es Zoological Nucleus/Core y en una página española.
No es que no me fíe, pero me gustaría comprobar si está bien o si existe otro término más correcto para describir lo mismo.

A Núcleo Zoológico seems to be a catch-all permit according to the website cited by philgoddard. Unfortunately, there wouldn't be any direct translation into English (US English, at any rate), as there are a range of permits that cover what the single Núcleo Zoológico covers.
In this case, I believe "Animal Shelter Permit" would be an analogous item.
To be certain, however, we'd need to know what species are dealt with at the Rescue Center in question, since the type of license/permit required varies according to species.

Licensed animal husbandry unit
This is from a long time ago, but I've recently come across this term and in my context at least, it clearly refers to a place, not the licence. It refers to the skills people pick up by doing work experience on a farm: "Capacidad de gestionar visitas y otras actividades del núcleo zoológico".
So I would suggest something like the above. In my case it doesn't really make sense to retain the original phrase, but perhaps in other cases it would, with my suggestion, or something like it, in brackets afterwards. In the particular case I'm looking at, maybe even "licensed farm" would be best, but that wouldn't work in the case discussed here.

Secondly, it is the "permit"; and thirdly, one possible way of dealing with your question may be to use a Translator's Note (TN) to explain the concept, as one or two words in English may not adequately explain the actual meaning of the term (nucleo zoológico).
