The hydraulic unit of these large spherical valves are located in the middle of a gallery which also houses hydraulic accumulators at one end. There is currently no adequate retention provided around the groups. In case of a fire, a large oil leak could overflow the existing small drain trenches, and cause a large pool fire in this gallery, with possible fire extension to the hydraulic accumulators. ***Curbing*** the groups with adequate drains would be sufficient. An alternative to the ***curbing*** would be to install automatic water spray fire protection (sprinklers) at ceiling level over the entire area of the gallery, in order to maintain a control of the temperature in this confined area in case of a fire.
