Ciao... sembrerà banale, ma non ho mica trovato ancora un traducente adatto a "seriously" in questo contesto... Si parla sempre di barriere interpersonali, e in particolare di menzogna:
"Lying means the sender states what is believed to be false in order to seriously mislead one or more receivers"
Ovviamente ho escluso in modo grave/serio, perché li trovo inadattio

Quel *seriously", secondo me, indica l'intenzionalità del mittente, non le conseguenze dell'azione. Lo tradurrei con "intenzionalmente"; "volutamente"; "deliberatamente".
