Oct 29, 2011 08:50: Liliane Hatem Created KOG entry

Nov 1, 2011 19:36: Lucia Leszinsky changed "Level" from "Non-PRO" to "PRO"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (1): Mohsin Alabdali

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Zareh Darakjian Ph.D. (asker) Oct 27, 2011:
Liliane: This is the word. I copied it from Taghreed's answer:

إدغام
Zareh Darakjian Ph.D. (asker) Oct 27, 2011:
Liliane, can you read the word written in Arabic by Taghreed? That's the Arabic word.
Zareh Darakjian Ph.D. (asker) Oct 27, 2011:
Sorry, Lilane, but my computer is not scrolling to allow me to see your discussion comment.. I don't know why this happens sometimes...
Zareh Darakjian Ph.D. (asker) Oct 27, 2011:
It's the word that Taghreed has written in Arabic...but it's not in the meaning of diphtong here, I would think...
Liliane Hatem Oct 27, 2011:
if it is اقحام then it is 'insertion'
Zareh Darakjian Ph.D. (asker) Oct 27, 2011:
number 1

some type of joining, I would think
Liliane Hatem Oct 27, 2011:
cannot read the second one. What is the "kh"?
1- غ
2- خ
3- ق
4- ك
5- ح
Zareh Darakjian Ph.D. (asker) Oct 27, 2011:
the meaning but probably not the translation is "joining and uniting"...
