An increase in temperature caused when incoming solar radiation is passed but outgoing thermal radiation is blocked by the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide and water vapor are two of the major gases responsible for this effect.

Efekti serrë është rritja e temperaturës në tokë për shkak të rritjes së emetimit të dioksidit të karbonit në atmosferë. Kjo rritje ndodh sepse avulli i ujit dhe dioksidi i karbonit nuk e lejon nxehtësinë e rrezatuar nga toka të përshkojë atmosferën.
