Five implants with two different surfaces, three with a X® surface (zirconia sand blasted, acid etched), and two with a X®-modified surface with dendrimers of phosphoserine and polylysine were installed in the right side of the mandible. In the most anterior region (P2, P3), two recipient sites were prepared with drills, and one implant X® surface and one coated with dendrimers implants were installed at random. In the posterior region (P4 and M1), three recipient sites were randomly prepared: two sites with a Y® instrument and one site with drill and two X® surface and one coated with dendrimers implants installed.

naturalmente come afferma dandamesh gli impianti sono due: uno "con superficie x" e l'altro "con superficie x-modificata"

Le superfici sulle quali verranno eseguiti i test sono quelle
presenti sugli impianti Sweden & Martina: ZirTi (Zirconium
Sandblasted Acid Etched Titanium), HRPS (High Roughness
Plasma Spray), e Machined (è la superficie lucida presente a
livello del collo implantare in alcune fixtures). Le medesime
topografie di superficie saranno inoltre testate dopo essere
state sottoposte ad un processo di coating sperimentale, un
nuovo tipo di rivestimento attualmente oggetto di indagini
precliniche, costituito da un film polimerico ottenuto dalla
deposizione di dendrimeri a base di serina e lisina, capace di
stimolare la ricrescita ossea per via chimica.
