Spanish term

Chile 333 C/D 303

Spanish to English Other Construction / Civil Engineering An address
What does the abbreviation C/D mean? Perhaps "condominium"? (apartment?)

(Taken from an address in Chile)

Context Thanks Mediamatrix....I just leave it
Jennifer Levey Jun 23, 2008:
If you want to send me the full address by e-mail I will see if I can find some relevant information. Take it ... or leave it.
Gwendolyn (asker) Jun 23, 2008:
Context Sorry, Mediametrix, as you realise, true addresses cannot be posted, for privacy reasons.

The municipality that issued the driving license is Providencia

It is a Chilean driving license.

Thanks, anyway, for your willingness to help.

Cheers

Gwen

It says "Address"? Is this a Chilean drivers license? What city? It is still not the whole context.
Jennifer Levey Jun 23, 2008:
OK - no 'real' context? - No answer either! Sorry I wasted 5 minutes checking my resources for 'Chile 333' :(
Gwendolyn (asker) Jun 23, 2008:
Context The address appears on a driving license.

It reads:

Address: Chile 333 C/D 303

(Name and numbers changed, of course, for privacy reasons).

So that is the whole context.

Cheers

It's possible that 'C/D' is not an abbreviation. Try reading it as:"Calle Chile número 333C - D(epartamento) 303". But there is no 'Calle/Avenida/etc. Chile' in Santiago (Centro). Maybe in some other city - or some other country (e.g. Colombia/Bogotá)?
Henry Hinds Jun 23, 2008:
I know Chile quite well, but I have never seen anything like that. Moreover, it is not easy for me to believe that is the whole context. Anything addressed like that would be returned.
Gwendolyn (asker) Jun 23, 2008:
Replying to the note by Henry Hinds Dear Henry,

That is the whole context.

I do know that addresses are not translated, but I wish to learn about the abbreviation.

Kind regards

Gwendolyn
Henry Hinds Jun 23, 2008:
No idea w/o CONTEXT; plus addresses are not translated.
