The attack surface will expand.
With billions of new devices now connected to the IoT (including smart meters, heating and air conditioning systems, health monitoring devices, remote sensors for gas and oil lines, etc.) and more devices connecting all the time, the ability to gain visibility into these attack vectors, let alone close them to malicious actors, is increasingly difficult.
Threat diversity will increase.
Due to the variety of objects adversaries can target, many of which are in insecure locations, attackers are able to devise new methods the cyber security industry has yet to face and blend sophisticated techniques to accomplish their mission.
Threat sophistication will continue.
Threats have already become stealthier, evading initial point-in-time detections and using nearly imperceptible indicators of compromise to reach their target. Cyber security systems that rely exclusively on point-in-time defenses and techniques can’t keep up with unfolding attacks.
Remediation will become more urgent and more complex.
When an attack does happen organizations can’t necessarily isolate a system because the cost and implications of shutting it down may be greater than the cost of an infection, presenting serious tradeoffs between protection and continuity of operations. Remediation methods will need to support a focused approach to quickly detecting, scoping, and containing a threat, cleaning up systems, and bringing operations back to normal.
Marketing and Ads.

В качестве мишени злоумышленники могут избирать самые разные объекты (размещение многих из которых не является надежным), поэтому они готовы изобретать новые методы, с которыми индустрии кибербезопасности предстоит иметь дело, и комбинировать сложные технические средства для достижения своей цели.
Изощренность угрозы будет нарастать.
Угроза стала более скрытой, трудно обнаружимой на начальном этапе, с практически полным отсуствием компроментирующих факторов, могущих помешать выполнению задачи.
Системы кибербезопасности, настроенные исключительно на оказание своевременной защиты, не могут справиться с растущим числом атак.
Задача восcтановления становится более настоятельной и сложной. Когда атака действительно случается, организации не в состоянии необходимым образом изолировать систему, так как затраты и последствия, связанные с ее полным отключением, могут оказаться более дорогостоящими, чем покрытие ущерба от занесенного вируса, что представляет серьезный компромисс между защитой и продолжением рабочего режима.
Восстановительные методы необходимо сосредоточить на быстром обнаружении опасности, определении ее масштаба и на ее локализации, на вычищении систем и возвращении функций в нормальный график работы.
