I found the word \"embarque\" as the translation for \"handling\" in the field of aeronautics in a respected dictionary (published by Díaz de Santos).
This makes sense, since quite often \"embarque\" is translated as \"shipment\", and that is what handling agents do for the airlines, help in the shipment process.
