Spanish term

sal fundente

Spanish to English Other Food & Drink
This appears in a list of ingredients:
mantequilla, sales fundentes (E-339, E-452), aroma, sal, conservante (E-200)), harina de trigo, zanahoria (2,3%), pimiento (1,7%), tomate natural (1,5%) (contiene corrector de acidez (E-330)), aceite de girasol, sal, almidón modificado, fécula de patata, espesante (E-407), ajo, especias, conservador E-202

Discussion

Lorna O'Donoghue (asker) Oct 27, 2005:
My suggeestion above won't work because later in the text there are more sales fundentes that are not polyphosphates
sales fundentes (E-452, E-331). Any ideas? Maybe just additives?
Lorna O'Donoghue (asker) Oct 27, 2005:
Found a list of E-numbers. E-339 is a sodium phosphates and E-452 is a polyphosphate. Would I translate then as sodiumm (poly)phosphates? Or is there something more concise??

Cheese powder is dehydrated cheese that contains natural cheese and other dairy components with emulsifying salts. Cheese powders evolved during World War II as a preservation method for cheese. Later, they were used for convenience foods, such as snacks and dry mixes for sauces and side dishes.
