Having now had another coffee, it occurs to me that Anna is right, a master instructor handles Lehrlings, Azubis, etc, not just other teachers. The Master honorific refers to the qualification to teach in general. That said, I still believe that Master Instructor is the right term here.

Steven, I agree with you - trainer is a bit vague here. But the phrase Master Instructor doesn't mean much to me I'm afraid. It's probably to do with the difference in the UK/German training system - with the emphasis of work-based vocational training in Germany

: I agree with your logic (Lehrlinge), but not with the term... 'trainer' is one of these words that very often conveys no particular certification behind it--anyone can open their doors as a trainer for computer literacy, whereas Lehrmeister is a title.
