have an abrasive effect

I don't know if you can use this one.
Some dishwasher detergents dull the glaze on crockery and gradually wear down overglaze decorations.

Many modern types are dishwasher proof or dishwasher resistant, but this effect is sometimes seen on older china and porcelain.

wear

looks like a spelling error, should be "slita"

slipa = grind
slita (nöta) = wear

polish??

Difficult to know without more context of course, but slipa surely also means 'polish' - not just 'nice and clean' but 'positively gleaming' perhaps??
Peer comment(s):

disagree asptech : the sentence does not sound as if any praise is intended
