flooding the surrounding

English to Spanish Medical Medical: Cardiology
defective artery in the brain bursts, flooding the surrounding tissue with blood.

Inundando sounds a bit literal. any other suggestions?

Discussion

you could say "que se derrama hacia el tejido circundante", but "derramarse" is not consistent with the idea of "burst" I think...

could you say "que derrama" When I think of derrama I think of spilling something which in essence this is a huge spill.

que inunda (el tejido) circundante

I don't think the use of "inundar" is too literal. I would avoid using "inundando" though... would go for "que inunda" instead.
