site homonyme

French to English Bus/Financial Printing & Publishing
... from a summary of a book publisher's Internet presence. It lists the publisher's own websites, then says "Sites homonymes des magazines" and lists some magazine websites.

Discussion

Tegan Raleigh (asker) Mar 28, 2006:
hi everyone... these are websites that the publisher's site links to. the names of the websites are indeed the same as the names of the magazines themselves!
Miranda Joubioux (X) Mar 28, 2006:
Are these magazine web sites produced by the same group or are they completely separate? I often find that by looking at the web sites, I get a better idea of what they mean. It really all depends on the context.

Magazines' Websites With The Same Name as the Magazines Themselves

I don't think we'd use homonymous in English in this context (French is more "conceptual" that way), so you have to go about it in another way.

"Magazines' Websites" would do the job just fine, in my opinion.

Thanks Janet! I don't there's a shorter way of putting it properly in English
agree Maria Karra : For a shorter version, how about "Websites of magazines with the same name"?/ no, never mind, that sounds as if all magazines have the same name. I prefer your version.

Magazine branded websites

One can assume that the magazine owns the website - (copyright rules). As with all translations, what does the originator want to say?
Websites twinned with magazines?
