Free On Board (FOB) is an Incoterm. It is similar to FAS, but the seller also pays for the loading costs. The passing of risks occurs when the goods pass the ship's rail at the port of shipment. Internationally the term specifies the port of origin, e.g. "FOB New York" or "FOB Vancouver".

Στο παραπάνω κείμενο δεν λέει FOB <λιμάνι>. Δεν υπάρχει ούτε λιμάνι ούτε πλοίο. Λέει, σύμφωνα με την αμερικανική ορολογία, FOB <εγκαταστάσεις κατασκευής ή διανομής>. Αυτή η διατύπωση δεν σημαίνει τίποτε στη διεθνή πρακτική και πρέπει να διατυπωθεί με το αντίστοιχο EXW, δηλαδή «Οι όροι μεταφοράς είναι εκ του εργοταξίου». Που πάει να πει ότι το εμπόρευμα παραδίδεται στο σημείο διανομής και από εκείνο το σημείο τα έξοδα μεταφοράς και οι κίνδυνοι βαρύνουν τον αγοραστή.
